I Need a Headline

Persistence, Patience, Passion, Desire.

These things have been talked about many times by many people in relation to success.

First I ask WHOSE success? And what does it mean to YOU personally?

So how do we achieve our own personal success?

Let’s take a look at how some of our sports people are achieving their success’s in the current Olympic Games.

Michael Phelps now has 8 gold medals the Spanish call him the TIBURON –shark because of the way he swims. The papers castigated him a couple of weeks ago because at that time he only had 5 gold medals.

So ask yourself WHAT DOES IT TAKE for an individual to be so focussed to achieve this success. Just to have qualified for the games is SUCCESS for some of the sports people.

PERSISTENCE, PATIENCE, PASSION AND DESIRE plus of course some natural talent. We all have natural talents if we stop and look.

Rafael Nadal goes from strength to strength. I’m not a tennis expert but you have to admire this young man’s tenacity. Wimbledon kept escaping his grasp but did he give up? NO and this year victory and success were his. I watched hi m last weekend when he became the world’s number 1 tennis player. The shear look of determination and exhilaration on his face said it all.

PERSISTENCE, PATIENCE, PASSION AND DESIRE.

At the other end of the spectrum I was watching a 4 year old with his skateboard on the promenade. He had balance, could crouch down and even balance on one leg but he could not jump over the obstacle with his skateboard.

Each time he moved further away from the hurdle thinking this would help him but as he approached the hurdle he would slow down and end up perched on top of it.

Finally, he stopped and took stock. He placed his board on top of the hurdle and manipulated to see what it was doing and what had to happen to succeed in jumping over it. He realised he needed more velocity not less.

This situation continued for over half and hour. He did not look right or left he was focussed. Except one time a teenager caught his eye.skateboarding, performing various acrobatic feats. and then looked away. Maybe he thought “That’s not my current challenge”.

He returned to his challenge and finally he jumped the hurdle although not with ease. There was no ego involved. He did not look around for praise hehad his own success. What lessons had this little child learnt through PLAY!! ?

Is Your Life in the Balance?

Be More, Do More, Have More.

What do we mean when we talk about YOUR life in the balance?

We need to BE FIT to DO LIFE to its full intensity.

As I pondered this I came up with 5 aspects of life that we need to consider to balance our lives, our businesses and live in abundance and prosperity.

Physical, Mental, Emotional, Spiritual and Financial

Let’s take a look at each one:

Physical Fitness

Without physical fitness we cannot function in our everyday lives. Each one of us is unique as a human being and your body is the vehicle that conveys you through your life.

Let me take a car as an analogy, especially as we tend to spend more money on our cars than we do on ourselves.

Cars need gasoline to keep moving just like we need our blood to circulate in our bodies. Our car needs air and water for hydration and oil to keep the parts lubricated. Eventually parts begin to wear out like tyres and rust on the body. Every year we have the car checked over to spot any problems and then we rectify them. Most of us care for our vehicles and try to prevent expensive problems occurring like engine, gear box, clutch failure – substitute HEARTS, LUNGS etc. It is also essential to use the car and not leave it standing unused. The same for our bodies. Prevention is better than cure. We know this but what do we really do about it?

Do we do the same for our bodies or do we wait until the inevitable happens?????

I spoke to a rather obese lady last week who is now on various types of medication to combat the pressure on her heart, the diabetes etc. and the various side effects.
We talked about being FIT and doing some gentle exercise. Her response was WHEN I LOSE WEIGHT I WILL DO EXERCISE!!!!

It is our responsibility to take care of the vehicle that we have been given by exercising daily. We need to keep the heart pumping and oxygenated blood circulating in our brains. In order to perform at your Physical Optimum Best you need daily ACTIVITY. The options and choices these days are endless. You have a responsibity to the vehicle that you have been given to take you through life.

Mental Activity

What activity do you take each DAY to improve your mental acuity and learn new skills to enhance your personal life and your business?

What book are you currently reading? What hobbies do you participate in?

Amazon.com is a well kept secret. Only 25% of Amercans read a book last year.

Emotional

What gives you joy and pleasure and helps to offer relaxation? It could be playing with your dog, enjoying time with your children, a walk along the beach or in the park looking at nature or just sitting day dreaming. A human who does not own a single hour a day is not a human being.

One thing a computer cannot do –compared to a human being- is look into the evening sky.

Spiritual

We are more that just our physical bodies. We have our higher selves and this is often a side that is neglected. Who are YOU? What are YOUR inner beliefs and convictions? What are YOUR truths about YOUR life and the human race? What are YOUR values? Are you developing or standing still?

Many people have read The Secret and this has been a great beginning for many people but it is just the start of the journey. Some people asked after about a week “ But why has the Lamborgini not appeared yet out side my house? Why have my dreams and goals not been fulfilled? Have you moved on from here? Life is a journey not an EVENT.

And finally

Financial

This is an aspect that I feel passionate about because this is something that has adversely affected many of us involved in network- marketing as well as other areas of life.

It is also a subject that is not taught in the schools – How to understand the FLOW of money as ENERGY.

I recently re-read “Rich Dad Poor Dad,” Robert Kiyosaki. Each time I read this I learn something new and amazing about the way money works and investment.

For you to become a leader and a force of power for good and, have people follow you need the following four intangible qualities.

FIRST

Watch children playing on the beach, in the sea and on the rocks. They don’t have these fears. Most of the time they are in a world of their own, not even aware of anyone else around. We are not born with these fears.

I watched a 3 year old put on her goggles, NO snorkel, hold her daddy’s hand and promptly plopp herself over the edge of the rocks into the sea. They were in the water for over half and hour. She swam without any fears or concerns. No fear of bodily harm as she submerged her head under water. No fear what other people were saying. No fear that Daddy was not there. NO FEAR! Just BEING SELF and living life full of joy.

Most of our limiting beliefs are rooted in emotional wounds that require healing and dismissing. If you are interested in learning more about limiting beliefs then read:

So what are these FEARS?

1. You can’t have FEAR of rejection.

People who have a fear of rejection do not build large successful

or have positions of power and leadership.

2. You can’t have any FEAR of rejection of what people might think of you.

People with a fear of how they will be perceived don’t write good copy, don’t speak and present themselves well and normally spend all their working lives working for other people.

Stop being frightened of “your self.”

3. You can’t be afraid of bodily harm.

So stop being frightened of saying what you truly believe and feel!!!!!!

4. No FEAR of failure.

You have to break down these barriers if you are going to charge your way through what doesn’t work, to reach your goal of what does work and become successful. No one is perfect. Just get going!

Ask yourself: What is the worst that can possibly happen?

People tend to magnify things out of all proportion. We use our imaginations against ourselves and make mountains out of molehills. Someone once said: “The greatest cause of ulcers is mountain-climbing over molehills.”
